Step-by-Step Counselling Process
Step 1: Registration (Round 1 only)
- josaa.nic.in pe jaao
- "New Candidate Registration" click
- JEE Main + JEE Advanced application number + DOB + password se login
- Personal details verify + bank details add (for fee/refund)
- Submit registration → JoSAA Roll Number generate
Step 2: Choice Filling (CRITICAL!)
- "Choice Filling" option click
- Up to 2,000+ college-branch combinations select karo
- Priority order arrange (drag-drop top to bottom)
- Lock choices before deadline (unlocked = NO consideration)
- Unlimited changes until lock - mock allotment use karke optimize karo
Tip: More choices = better chance. Top 80-150 priority choices fill karo (realistic + dream + safety mix). 2,000+ allowed but realistic 100-200 ideal.
Step 3: Seat Allotment + Decision
- Round-wise allotment result check
- Allotted? Pay Rs 35,000 fee (Acceptance) within window
- 3 options:
- Float: Stay in current allotment, but try better in next round
- Slide: Same institute, but try better branch
- Freeze: Confirm + reporting (no further upgrade)
- Reporting at allotted institute (physical / online)
Step 4: Round 2-6 Repeat
- Float/Slide automatic next round consider hota hai
- Better seat = upgrade automatic. Same/worse = current confirmed
- Last round (6) = final allotment, NO upgrade possible
