OFSS Merit List 2026 - Quick Info

Merit List Calculation - Kaise Banta Hai

Primary Factor: 10th Marks

• Bihar Board / CBSE / ICSE / Other recognized board marks
• Aggregate percentage / CGPA conversion
• Higher marks = higher rank in merit list

Secondary Factors

• Faculty preference (Science/Commerce/Arts/Vocational)
• Reservation category (Gen/EWS/BC-1/BC-2/SC/ST)
• 20 college choices filled in application (priority order)
• Female reservation (specific quota)
• District / Region preference (some colleges prefer local students)

Tie-Breaking Rules

If two students have same percentage:

1. Date of Birth - older candidate gets preference
2. English marks in 10th
3. Mathematics marks in 10th
4. Subject-wise marks (faculty-relevant)

Slide-Up Option - Detailed Guide (5-12 May)

Slide-Up = upgrade chance for students unsatisfied with current allotment.

Who Can Use Slide-Up?

• ✅ Students whose name IS in 1st merit list but want better preference college
• ✅ Students whose name NOT in 1st merit list can submit fresh choices
• ❌ Students who ALREADY admitted at allotted college - not eligible

How Slide-Up Works:

1. Don't take admission immediately at 1st-list allotted college
2. Login OFSS portal during 5-12 May window
3. Select 10-20 fresh college preferences (better than current allotment)
4. Submit - automatic processing
5. Higher preference college allot hoga 2nd merit list me
6. If no upgrade = original 1st-list allotment remains valid

Slide-Up Risk:

• ⚠️ Original 1st-list seat NOT guaranteed if you don't admit + slide-up fails
• ⚠️ Strategic timing - don't wait till 12 May last day (system load)
• ✅ Safe move: Admit at 1st-list college first → then withdraw if slide-up gives better

Required Documents for Admission (Take to Allotted College)

Information Sheet (Allotment Letter) Me Kya Hai

College Allotment Process - 3 Rounds

Round 1: 1st Merit List (5 May 2026 - OUT TODAY)

• Highest merit students allotted top preference college
• Confirm admission within 5-12 May at allotted college (7 days only)
• Slide-up option available SAME window 5-12 May
• Reporting: Print intimation letter + visit allotted school/college with documents

Round 2: 2nd Merit List (Mid-May 2026)

• Vacant seats + students who used slide-up + students NOT in 1st list
• Lower cutoff typically (5-10% reduction)
• Window: 5-7 days for admission
• Slide-up can be used again if unsatisfied

Round 3: 3rd Merit List + Spot Admission (June 2026)

• Final round for remaining vacant seats
• Spot Admission at college level for remaining seats post-3 rounds
• Last chance for late applicants
• Direct college visit allowed (no online process)

Important: NOT admitting in 5-12 May window without slide-up = seat cancel + 2nd round wait. Admit safely + slide-up parallel = best strategy.

OFSS Sliding + Upgrade Rules

• Higher preference college allot ho jaye 2nd/3rd round me to automatic upgrade
• Original allotment cancel ho jaata hai
• No manual choice - merit + preference order auto-determines
• Withdraw option: Round complete hone ke baad cancel kar sakte ho (refund partial)
