Paper 1 vs Paper 2 - Eligibility

Paper 1 - Primary Level (Class 1-5)

• 12th pass with minimum 50% (Gen/OBC) / 45% (SC/ST/PwBD)
• AND 2-year D.El.Ed (BTC) / 4-year B.El.Ed / D.Ed (Special Education) - completed or final year
• Age: 18+ years (per UP teacher recruitment rules)

Paper 2 - Upper Primary Level (Class 6-8)

• Graduation with minimum 50% (Gen/OBC) / 45% (SC/ST/PwBD)
• AND any one:
  • 2-year D.El.Ed (BTC)
  • 1-year B.Ed (or final year)
  • 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed / B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed (final year)
• Age: 18+ years

Both Papers (Class 1-8)

• Apply karne ke liye both eligibility criteria meet karna padta hai
• Fee bhi double lagega - per paper

OTR (One Time Registration) - NEW 2026 Rule

UP Education Department ne 2026 se OTR mandatory kiya hai:

1. upessc.up.gov.in pe "OTR Registration" link
2. Aadhaar verification + email + mobile OTP
3. Personal details + educational qualifications save
4. OTR ID + Password generate hota hai - lifetime use
5. Future me sab UP teacher exams me same OTR

Bina OTR = application reject! Pehle OTR complete karo, fir UPTET form fill karo.

Exam Pattern - CBT (Both Papers)

• Duration: 2.5 hours (150 minutes) per paper
• Negative Marking: NO (no penalty for wrong answer)
• Qualifying: 60% (90/150) General | 55% (82/150) SC/ST/OBC/PwBD

Q: UPTET me negative marking hai? A: NAHI - UPTET me no negative marking. Saare 150 questions bina penalty attempt kar sakte ho. Maximum attempt karne ki strategy work karti hai.
